The Sequel That Stole My Heart

I'll admit it... I think Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again might actually be my favourite of the two films. There, I said it!

Don't get me wrong - I love the original. It's impossible not to sing along, and it's become such a feel-good classic. But there's just something about the sequel that makes me smile every single time I watch it.

I love how the film tells Donna's story. Lily James is absolutely brilliant as young Donna, and I love watching how all the friendships, adventures and romances unfold. It adds so much heart to the story we already know.

And then there's Cher. I mean... who else could turn up towards the end of a film and completely steal the show? She arrives looking absolutely fabulous, delivers iconic one-liners and then treats us to Fernando with Andy García. It's gloriously over the top, wonderfully dramatic and exactly the kind of moment you didn't know you needed. Honestly, it's worth watching for Cher alone!

Yes, there are moments that make me cry (if you know, you know!), but that's one of the reasons I love it so much. It isn't just a musical packed with catchy ABBA songs - it's a story about family, friendship, love and making the most of life. Somehow it manages to be hilarious, emotional, nostalgic and uplifting all at the same time.

That's exactly why I can't wait for our Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again dance workshop and movie screening. It's the perfect excuse to dance, laugh, sing your heart out and enjoy a brilliant evening with our amazing dance community. 

So, if you're anything like me and can never resist a bit of Dancing Queen, come and join us! I promise you'll leave with a smile on your face - and probably a few ABBA songs stuck in your head too!
